Five members were inducted into
The PhD Project Hall of Fame and
were recognized for their commit-
ment to the program’s mission to
diversify business-school faculties.
Inductees were: Quiester Craig,
dean, School of Business and
Economics, North Carolina A&T
State University; John A. Elliott,
dean, Zicklin School of Business,
Baruch College; Bernard J. Milano,
president of The PhD Project and
the KPMG Foundation, founder
and lead funder of the Project;
Andrew J. Policano, dean, The
Paul Merage School of Business,
University of California, Irvine; and
Melvin T. Stith, dean, Whitman
School of Management, Syracuse
University. DiversityInc CEO Luke
Visconti is on the board of The
PhD Project. The PhD Project has
more than tripled the number of
Black, Latino and American Indian
professors from 294 in 1994 to
more than 1, 100 in 2011. Individuals

Top 50. She spoke Oct. 19 to about 20 nonprofit leaders at the offices of the National Human Services Assembly, an
association of nonprofit health and human-service organizations.
