empowerment and policy.
DR. MARY FERNÁNDEZ
The American Cancer Society has
named NATASHA COLEMAN
regional vice president for the
Central New Jersey Region. She
oversees the American Cancer
Society’s educational, patient and
family service as well as fundraising
efforts in two counties. Coleman
served as the New Jersey divi-
sion director of Strategic Health
Initiatives for the American Cancer
Society, where she managed preven-
tion and detection work through
multi-regional and statewide
accounts, working to set cancer-
control priorities to achieve the
greatest impact. She received her
master’s degree from the University
has received the 2011 Outstanding
Technical Achievement-Industry
award from Great Minds in
STEM/HENAAC. She is executive
director of distributed computing
research at AT&T Labs. Fernández
is responsible for leading a
research team focused on advanc-
ing the design and development of
complex distributed systems, from
cloud to mobile computing.

is a nonprofit organization that
focuses on educational awareness
of careers in science, technology,
engineering and math (collectively
known as the STEM fields). AT&T
is No. 4 in the DiversityInc Top 50. NATASHA COLEMAN

MARIA G. ARIAS has been named
executive director of diversity
and inclusion at Comcast, one of
DiversityInc’s 25 Noteworthy
Companies. She directs, manages
and organizes Comcast’s diversity-program strategy, with a focus on
recruitment and career development,
suppliers, programming and community investment. Arias served as vice
president of operations for Comcast
Cable’s Southern Colorado systems,
where she led technical operations
