JENNIFER CHRISTIE has been
named chief diversity officer and
vice president of global execu-
tive recruitment at American
Express Co., No. 13 in The 2011
DiversityInc Top 50 Companies
for Diversity®. She is overseeing
the global diversity and inclusion
team. Prior to joining American
Express last year, Christie was a
member of the global technology
and services practice at an execu-
tive search firm; a special assistant
to the president of the United
States in the Office of Presidential
Personnel, responsible for recruit-
ing presidential appointees; and an
associate at Booz Allen Hamilton,
No. 32 in the DiversityInc Top 50,
in its organizational-design and
change-management practice.
Christie received a bachelor’s
degree from the University of
North Carolina at Chapel Hill and
a master’s degree from The George
Washington University.
Christie succeeds KERRIE
PERAINO, who has been promoted to senior vice president of
international human resources
and global employee relations at
American Express. Peraino had
been the company’s chief diversity
officer for three years.
DONNIE J. PERKINS has been
appointed vice president of
diversity and inclusion at
University Hospitals. Perkins
joined the organization from
Northeastern University, where
he was dean and director of the
Office of Institutional Diversity
and Equity. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Central
State University in Wilberforce,
Ohio, and a master’s degree
from Rensselaer at Hartford, a
branch of Rensselaer Polytechnic
Institute. University Hospitals is
No. 5 in The DiversityInc Top 5
Hospital Systems.
KAY KAPOOR ROSE STUCKEY KIRK
ROSE STUCKEY KIRK has
been appointed president of the
Verizon Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Verizon. She
is in charge of leading Verizon’s
philanthropic strategy with
an emphasis on projects that
demonstrate the use of Verizon’s
technology in addressing social
issues such as education, domes-tic-violence prevention and online
safety. Kirk earned her bachelor’s
degree from Arkansas State
University and is a member of the
university’s advisory board for
the College of Communications.
