Thanks to our corporate partner, The Wachovia Foundation, and our Tour Zone sponsors, more than 15,000 students turned out for UNCF’s HBCU Empower Me Tour to learn about how to use their education as a tool toward achieving financial success.

They heard “CSI:NY” star and author Hill Harper tell them how they could start building wealth while they were still in college.

They connected to some of the nation’s leading public service organizations, like Big Brothers Big Sisters of America and Teach For America, and they interacted one-on-one with representatives of some of the country’s leaders in corporate social responsibility—Wachovia, American Airlines, Fed Ex, Ford Motor Company and Amtrak.

During the coming year, expect a bigger and better HBCU Empower Me Tour with content and outreach related to the challenges facing students today: financial literacy, health and wellness, professional development, entrepreneurship, the environment and service and philanthropy.
