SHELBY HILL as program director of their
Washington, D.C./Metro
Bridges office. She will
manage a team that will
work with schools to help
transition young adults
with disabilities into
positions with employers
in Montgomery County
and Washington, D.C.
The team has placed
more than 2,000 young
adults with disabilities
since opening in 1990.
Hill started her career at
the JW Marriott Hotel
in Washington, D.C., as
a front-desk clerk and
has been with Marriott
for 17 years. Marriott
International is No. 4 on
The 2009 DiversityInc
Top 50 Companies for
Diversity® list.

ALFONSO MARTINEZ
is now NII Holdings’
vice president and
chief human-resources
officer. He is responsible
for developing and
implementing human-capital strategies to
improve the company’s
performance. Martinez
oversees all human-resources functions,
ranging from recruiting
and training to employee
relations and services.
He previously served as
group vice president of
human resources in a
division of Sodexo that
generated $1.5 billion
in annual revenues.
Martinez represented
Sodexo among nonprofit
organizations such as
the National Hispanic
Corporate Council, the
National Society of
Hispanic MBAs and the
Hispanic College Fund.
He also served as a high-
ranking official for the
Hispanic Association on
Corporate Responsibility
and the Congressional
Hispanic Caucus.
