My 5
Rules for
Success

1. ALWAYS TRY TO DO THE RIGHT
THING. We all have an inner judge. If it’s
telling you not to do something, listen to
it; winning is more meaningful when it’s
an honest victory.
2. TAKE ONE STEP TO PROPEL YOU
FORWARD EVERY DAY. Sometimes
even the smallest steps, such as a phone
call, e-mail or 5-minute Internet search,
can be the most valuable. Set realistic
timelines, and reward yourself with a day
off once you get there. Always take time on
the weekends to refuel for the battle!
3. BE YOUR OWN CHEERLEADER!
Encourage yourself … positive thoughts
and determination can truly go a long
way. If you don’t believe in yourself, it’s
difficult to get other people to believe
in you.
4. IMMERSE YOURSELF IN THE
GOAL. Information is easily accessible
in this day and age, so do your research.
Constantly educate yourself and meet
likeminded people to discuss your
interests. You may even be inspired to
take a new path.
5. BE HONEST AND REALISTIC
WITH YOURSELF. Seek advice from
those you trust to keep you in check. But
sometimes, outside opinions from people
with the best knowledge of your desired
field or industry can prove the most
beneficial for your success.
