inclusion for the Atlanta-based home-office talent-strategy department of
the American Cancer
Society. In this role, he
will be responsible for
defining the society’s key
diversity priorities and
creating and communicating a strategy focused
on the diversity vision
across the organization.
Clayton has more than
25 years of strategic
diversity-leadership
experience, both as an
entrepreneur and executive in private industry.
He most recently served
as president of Axxis
Consulting in Atlanta.
Comcast named GRACE
KILLELEA vice president
of talent and leadership
initiatives. Killelea will
identify future internal
leaders, including high-
potential women, Asians,
Blacks, Latinos and Amer-
ican Indians, and will
work with management
to help prepare them
for their next leadership
role. For 10 years, she has
been a leader in Women
in Cable Telecommunications (WICT), the oldest
and largest organization
serving women professionals in cable and
telecommunications. She
has also served as sole
facilitator of the Betsy
Magness Leadership
Institute program for six
years, developing more
than 300 female cable-industry executives across
the country. Comcast is

AXA Equitable Life Insurance Co. named TRACEY
GRAY-WALKER its new
chief diversity officer. She
will be responsible for focusing on the continued
growth and implementation of AXA’s integrated
diversity strategy to
foster a diverse and inclusive environment within
the company’s business
units. Gray-Walker was
previously the company’s
vice president of business
development and opportunities, where she led
AXA Equitable Life Insurance Co.’s retail distribution channel in achieving
exponential revenue and
recruiting growth within
diverse markets.
Time Warner promoted
MAGGIE RUBEY LYNCH
to senior vice president
of worldwide recruitment
and executive search.
She is responsible for
identifying and fulfilling
Time Warner’s current
and future human-capital
needs while addressing
core business goals such
as increasing internal
mobility and work-force
diversity. Lynch joined
Time Warner in 2002
from Warner Bros.,
where she developed
an in-house executive-
recruitment function that
served as a model for the
enterprise-wide group
she leads today. She
holds a bachelor’s degree
from Southwest Texas
State University.
DEREK LEWIS has been
named senior vice president and general manager of the Pepsi Bottling
Group (PBG)’s Southeast
business, which includes
Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, the Carolinas and
part of Kentucky. Lewis
has spent the past two
years as vice president of
consumer and category
insights, where he was
responsible for PBG’s annual operating plan, innovation strategy, consumer
insights and national
marketing initiatives.
He holds a bachelor’s
degree from Hampton
University and an executive MBA from Xavier
University. PBG is No. 29
on The 2008 DiversityInc
Top 50 Companies for
Diversity® list.
The U.S. Navy promoted
D.C. CURTIS to the rank
of vice admiral of the
Naval Surface Forces
and Naval Surface Force,
U.S. Pacific Fleet. He is
accountable for manning,
equipping, training and
maintaining more than
160 surface force ships
based around the world.
Curtis is responsible
for more than 60,000
personnel. He received
a bachelor’s degree from
the United States Naval
Academy and a master’s
degree from Central
Michigan University.
