is the world's largest manufacturer,
seller and distributor of Pepsi-Cola
beverages. Pepsi Bottling Group was
spun off from PepsiCo (No. 10 on
The 2007 Top 50 Companies for
Diversity® list) and was incorporated
on Jan. 6, 1999.
DIVERSITY STRENGTHS: CEO and
President Eric Foss chairs the diversity council (only 54 percent of Top
50 companies do this). The company has a very strong diversity council, first formed in 1999, called the
Diversity Advisory Board. Its objectives are fourfold: Build an inclusive
culture, look like the marketplace,
capture the multicultural consumers
and connect with the community.
The company donates 30 percent of
its philanthropic endeavors to multicultural organizations (the Top 50
average is 32 percent). Pepsi
Bottling Group has mandatory
diversity surveys (only 30 percent of
Top 50 companies have this).
