When I left China to go to Columbia University

28. All my friends were young. As a producer
at China’s largest TV channel, China Central TV
(CCTV), all I thought about was working harder and
harder to get my name recognized. I also felt, as a well-educated young woman, I had some advantages over
my male colleagues in the media industry.
