Rosie Saez has been named senior vice
president, director of Wachovia’s
Leadership Practices group, which was
established in 2005 to coordinate leadership efforts throughout the company. She
now is responsible for overseeing the company’s strategy for developing exceptional
leaders and leadership practices in a corporate culture that is inclusive, ethical, performance driven and customer focused.
Formerly head of Wachovia’s Diversity
Integration Practice, Saez worked for 17
years in the nonprofit arena, focusing on
community relations and development.
She also has 17 years of experience in
human-resources management, including
supporting Wachovia’s human-resources
group as a business partner. Saez replaces
Jill Olmstead, who was named the human-resources business-partner director for
Wachovia’s Corporate and Investment
Banking group. Wachovia is No. 21 on
The 2006 DiversityInc Top 50 Companies
for Diversity®.

Jimmy Williamson will chair the
American Institute of Certified Public
Accountants (AICPA). He will focus on
increasing diversity in the profession and
promoting financial literacy. A senior
partner with the Alabama-based MDA
Professional Group, Williamson has been
involved with the AICPA as a member of
its governing council, board of directors
and National CPA Vision Team. He
worked with the Internal Revenue
Service prior to joining MDA
Professional Group and is a member and
past president of the Alabama Society of
CPAs. A certified forensic accountant
and diplomat of the American Board of
Forensic Accounting, Williamson holds a
bachelor’s degree in accounting from
Jacksonville State University.
Aetna tapped Ramon Soto to lead Aetna
Small and Middle-Market Business
Marketing Strategy and Communications.
Soto will work with Aetna’s Emerging
Markets and Local Market Improvement
teams to ensure that cross-departmental
marketing strategy aligns with core business objectives. Soto, who has 18 years’
marketing experience, held senior marketing positions in General Electric’s Financial
Services division prior to joining Aetna in
2002. He is a member of Puerto Ricans in
Management and Executive Roles
(PRIMER) and holds a bachelor’s degree
from Binghamton University.
New York Life Insurance Co. named
Judith Vance senior vice president and chief
human-resources officer. Vance will supervise all aspects of human resources, including talent management, compensation and
benefits, and human-resources consulting.
Prior to joining New York Life, one of
DiversityInc’s 25 Noteworthy Companies
in 2006, Vance was senior vice president
and chief human-resources officer with
Moody’s Corp. Before that, she held various human-resources positions with
Prudential Financial, No. 48 in the Top
50. Vance spent more than two decades
with Aetna, where she held both line and
human-resources positions.
